Kyanite Acres

2008 has brought two significant and wonderful changes to us and our dogs here at Kyanite Acres. First, Genevieve Glick and her dog Tymer started attending shows with me and also handling Quinn and Laika on occasion. She has been taking handling classes and while Tymer does so more maturing so that she can show him in Junior Showmanship, she will compete in the breed ring with my girls. Genny has also just become co-owner with me on Laika so now she has a dog that she can compete with in juniors while we wait for Tymer to mature.
Demi Painter joined me just a short time ago, but has already done amazing things in the ring with both Quinn and Opal. The first time Demi ever stepped foot in the conformation ring she took RWB to a 3 point major, I just was in shock. The next weekend she showed Opal in Junior Showmanship and took 1st in her class of 4, and then 1st in her class of two. Demi made a clean sweep of the Novice classes, taking 3 first place ribbons which has earned her the right to move up to open intermediate. While the competition is stiffer, she has taken a 2nd place in the class of 7 and  was pulled for a unofficial 5th place in a class of 16. Wow!
Watch for both young ladies to clean up in the ring in the very near future!
